  7. Arnold Scwartznegger returns as the Terminator,only this time to protect
  8. Linda Hamilton and her son from an even nastier Terminator,which can
  9. metamorphosise into any physical body it wants.
  10. The special effects are extraordinary,film is action packed and mind blowing.
  11. Film length is 125 mins and this film is the best movie of its type on this
  12. side of the 90's.

  14. New Jack City
  15. -------------
  16. Mario Van Peeble's slick and violent 'scarface'.Film is all about gangs,
  17. crack and the American way.Exciting stuff.

  19. Jacob's Ladder
  20. --------------
  21. Orson Welles once offered $10,000 to anyone who could give a good explanation
  22. of his film 'The Lady from Shanghai'-nobody could.Jacob's Ladder is kind of
  23. like that,a confused,paranoid,jumbled tale of a Vietnam Vet who suffer's
  24. flashback's which may or may not be real,and who may or may not be the victim
  25. of US army conspiracy,who may or may not etc.a strange film to make out,
  26. chilling and gripping film,similar in suspense to that of Flatliners but does
  27. not come any where near as good-worth a look though and is good fun.

  29. Pump Up the Volume-Full review

  31. To start off with,Pump up the Volume is a cross of The Breakfast Club and
  32. Talk Radio.The film's lead role is played by Christian Slater. 
  33. The film is a fresh film of the 90's with a teenage theme.
  34. People talk to one another on talk shows.People commit suicide without
  35. leaving notes as their pain is so great.Schools weed out undesireable pupils
  36. so as to keep as high a standard as possible,and as high grades as possible.
  37. As the opening line of the film says "it's all fucked up".
  38. Mark Hunter(Christian Slater) is a shy and frustrated high school student
  39. who fills the airwaves each night with his ideals,broadcasting from his
  40. homemade ham radio console.Hard Harry as he is known becomes a cult figure
  41. with his social commentary,simulated masturbation and his mega hip musak.
  42. He puts accross his ideals over the airwaves:-sixties idealism,his high school
  43. is corrupt and he misses his friends in New York.
  44. He finds an audience in his sad,lonely and misunderstood students,counselling
  45. them and bringing them out of their isolation.His audience are invited to
  46. write their problems and sent them to his po box.A lonely student commits
  47. suicide after calling Harry for advice and the parents of the school blame
  48. Harry for this teen suicide,and they call in the Police and the FCC to close
  49. Harry's station down and so the hunt for Harry is on.
  50. Incidentally Harry's radio program broadcasts from 10 PM each night.
  51. The pressure is on high schools for good SAT scores has forced school
  52. administrators and officials to falsify results and expel undesireables.
  53. Teen suicide is on the up and talk radio has become the most important
  54. form of interactive media in encouraging listeners to express themselves,
  55. not only in words but also in deeds.Hard Harry eventually becomes the new
  56. voice and its a responsibility he doesnt want.
  57. Pump up the Volume is an unusual film,it delas with issues of sexual identity,
  58. teenage pregnancy and teenage suicide.But there is also love,played out in
  59. several scenes that will bring out your happiest smile.This film confirms
  60. that Slater is an actor of no small talent and that newcomer Samantha Mathis
  61. (Slater's girlfriend in the film) has a bright future ahead of her.
  62. The film is refreshing and well worth a look.
